Homemade Rose Liqueur

A few months ago I found this recipe and thought it was interesting, I decided to try it and the result is wonderful: an exquisite liqueur, softly perfumed, very pleasant to the palate and perfect for this cold weather.

Low
  • We start by placing the previously washed rose petals in a saucepan with 1/2 liter of water and sugar over moderate heat, and once it reaches a boil, we count 18 minutes, the saucepan should remain covered.
  • Once the time has passed, remove from heat and add the drops of orange blossom water, stir a little, and let it rest until the next day.
  • The next day, add the rum or aguardiente, mix well, and let it rest for two more days.
  • After two days, strain the preparation through a cloth filter, bottle it, and let it macerate for a month. Be sure to seal the bottle very well and protect it from the sun and heat.
  • After a month, it is ready to drink.
