Tea for Eight

This is the Mexican drink that originated the famous saying teporocho. Tea for eight is a spiked tea that, during the Revolution, cost 8 cents, so go ahead and give it a try!

  • 1/4 cups orange peels, for infusing
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, for infusing
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 ounces aged rum
  • orange wheel, for decorating

  • Pour the water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
  • Turn off the heat and add the orange peel and cinnamon. Cover and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  • In a cup, pour the mixture using a strainer and add the aged rum.
  • Mix the tea for eight with a ballerina and garnish with a slice of orange.
