  • 1 chilacayote, chopped
  • 2 liters water
  • 1 piloncillo
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ice cubes
  • 4 cups water, fried

  • Add the chilacayote, water, piloncillo, and cinnamon to a pot. Cook over medium heat for one hour.
  • Remove the pulp from the skin, mash with a fork, and set aside.
  • Add the pulp to a pitcher with ice, then pour in the cooking water and cold water.
  • Serve the chilacayote agua fresca in a glass with ice.
