Horchata Water

In Mexico, horchata is a classic made from rice with a touch of cinnamon and milk. You will find various versions as many prepare it by mixing evaporated and condensed milk. Here we give you an easy and tasty recipe.

  • 2 cups rice
  • 3 cups water, hot
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cups condensed milk
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • ice cubes
  • cinnamon stick

  • In a bowl, soak the rice in warm water for at least 2 hours.
  • Add the soaked rice with the water, milk, water, vanilla extract, sugar, and cinnamon to the blender and blend until you have a smooth mixture. Strain and pour into a pitcher with ice.
  • Serve the water in glasses and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
