Horchata Water

Refreshing and delicious horchata water made with rice for the hot season.

  • 2 liters water
  • 1 cup rice
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cups sugar

  • Soak the rice in boiling water and wait for it to cool.
  • In a saucepan, boil 2 cups of water with the 4 cinnamon sticks, then let it cool.
  • Blend the rice with the water, the cinnamon water, and a piece of the cinnamon stick.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to pour the blended mixture into a large pitcher. Add milk to taste until you achieve the desired consistency.
  • Add 2 to 3 more liters of water and stir in sugar to taste. Finally, add ice.
