Tropical Horchata and Melon Water

  • 2 liters water, natural
  • 500 grams rice, regular
  • 6 tablespoons Splenda, Granulated sweetener
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder, coarse
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 500 milliliters light milk
  • 1 sheath vanilla essence, (cut lengthwise with a knife and scrape the seeds)
  • 3 cups chinese melon, in 5-millimeter cubes
  • 5 cups ice cubes, frappé

  • Bring 2 liters of natural water to a boil in a pot. Add a stick of cinnamon and let it simmer for 20 minutes, then turn off the heat.
  • Next, add vanilla and turn the heat back on until it boils.
  • Add the rice and let it boil for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  • Once it boils, turn off the heat and add SPLENDA® Granulated.
  • Mix the rice with the water and let it cool for 2 hours.
  • Add milk, blend, and strain 3 times until the water is free of rice residues.
  • Blend again with frappé ice and add the melon cubes and vanilla seeds.
