Traditional Champurrado

  • 1 cup masa dough
  • 1 cup water, for blending the masa
  • 2 liters water
  • 2 piloncillos
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tablets Mexican chocolate
  • 1 cup masa dough

  • Blend the masa and water for 5 minutes, until there are no lumps. Set aside.
  • Boil the water with the piloncillo and cinnamon, then cook until the piloncillo dissolves.
  • Add the chocolate and let it dissolve.
  • Add the blended masa, cook until the masa is cooked and has a thick consistency.
  • Serve the champurrado hot and accompany it with sweet bread.
