  • In a bowl, place the flour, salt, and dry yeast. Add the warm water and stir until the dough pulls away from the bowl; if necessary, add a little more flour.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured flat surface and knead for about 15 minutes.
  • During kneading, try to twist and stretch the dough to make it much more elastic. Grease the sides of a bowl and place the dough inside.
  • Cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 40 minutes.
  • Once that time has passed, transfer the dough to a floured table and remove excess air by pressing it with the tips of your fingers or your knuckles. Cover the dough and let it rise for 10 minutes.
  • Next, divide the dough into 2 and roll it out with a rolling pin until you get a rectangle of approximately 25 cm x 20 cm. Roll each piece of dough to form 2 baguettes and place them on a tray covered with oil and flour with the seam side down.
  • Beat the egg white and use a brush to apply it on top of each baguette. Cover with a cloth or a bag and let it ferment in a warm place for 40 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Make diagonal cuts about 1/2 cm deep with a sharp knife.
  • Bake the baguettes for 30-35 minutes and when you remove them, brush again with egg white and return to the oven for another 15 minutes. Finally, remove and let cool on a cloth.
