  • For the starter: mix the yeast, water, sugar, milk, and flour until combined. Let rest until it doubles in size.
  • Combine the flour, egg, salt, sugar, milk, and starter. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • Take a bit of dough and place in pre-greased molds, but do not fill more than half of the mold. Let rest for 20 minutes. Then, bake at 200°C for 20 minutes or until fully cooked.
  • For the syrup: heat the water, sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon, and anise in a pot for 15 minutes or until it forms a syrup. Let cool, add the rum, and mix.
  • Dip the borrachitos in the syrup and place in red liners.
