Donchas

We join the concha craze, now with a very original and fun version: an exquisite combination of donuts with the classic concha crust, known as donchas. Decorate them with the bicolor crust of vanilla and chocolate or let your imagination flow. Additionally, we created two versions of dough so you can mix them as you like. Enjoy with the little ones in the house and let their imagination flow while decorating them. It's impossible to resist!

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • Hydrate the yeast in the milk, let it rest for 10 minutes, and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt, add the egg, and the previously hydrated yeast, knead until integrated.
  • Add the butter gradually and knead until you have an elastic and integrated dough. About 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into two parts, to one part add the hazelnut cream and continue kneading until well combined.
  • Place in 2 greased bowls, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour or until they double in size.
  • For the crust, beat the butter with the powdered sugar and flour until a dough forms. Divide it into two and add cocoa to one half, mixing very well.
  • Place the crusts between two layers of plastic wrap and roll out with a rolling pin. Cut circles using a cookie or donut cutter and mark with the concha cutter. Create any designs you wish. Set aside in the refrigerator.
  • On a floured surface, place the risen doughs and remove excess air with your hands. Roll out to ½ cm thickness and cut with a donut cutter.
  • Place the dough discs on a baking sheet, cover with the crust, and let rise again for 15 minutes.
  • Bake the donchas for 15 minutes or until cooked through. Serve accompanied by a glass of milk.
