Gorditas de Nata

A very tasty and original recipe for the classic gorditas de nata. They are a very simple dessert to prepare, perfect to accompany with your favorite drink; like coffee, milk, hot chocolate, or atole. You choose.

  • 1 1/4 cups clotted cream, thick
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 4 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder

  • Beat the condensed milk with the cream, vanilla, and eggs.
  • Without stopping to beat, gradually add the flour and baking powder until achieving a homogeneous dough.
  • Flour a surface, and with a rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1 cm thick.
  • Using a round cutter, cut out the pieces and cook the gorditas on a hot griddle over low heat until they are cooked and lightly golden on both sides.
