3 Kings' Rings

The ring will never be the same with these 3 recipes: a braided ring filled with dark chocolate and almonds, or how about some lovely mini kings' rings decorated with ate and dried fruits, but if you love cream cheese, this family-sized ring will be your favorite with a hint of orange that gives it a special taste.

  • 4 cups wheat flour, for the dough
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar, for the dough
  • 1 teaspoon salt, for the dough

  • 1/3 cups water, fry, for the dough
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest, for the dough
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk, for the dough
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, for the dough (90 gr each)
  • 150 grams chocolate, chocolate and almond ring
  • 1/4 cups butter, chocolate and almond ring
  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar, chocolate and almond ring
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, chocolate and almond ring
  • 1/2 cups almonds, sliced, chocolate and almond ring
  • 1 cup butter, for decorating the chocolate and almond ring
  • 1 cup flour, for the crust mini rings
  • 1 cup icing sugar, for the crust mini rings
  • 3 egg yolks, for the crust mini rings

  • 1/4 cups icing sugar, for the filling cheese ring
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest, for the filling cheese ring

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • For the dough: Hydrate the yeast in warm water and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • In a mixer, add the wheat flour, sugar, salt, eggs, water, milk, and hydrated yeast; beat until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
  • Add the butter and orange zest, continue beating until obtaining a smooth and elastic dough.
  • In a greased bowl, let the dough rest covered for one hour or until it doubles in volume. Divide the dough into three.
  • For the chocolate and almond ring: Melt the butter with the chocolate. Add the powdered sugar and cocoa, mix until obtaining a dough.
  • On a floured surface, roll out one third of the dough to form a square of 30cm X 40cm.
  • Using a spatula, spread the chocolate filling and add the almonds, roll from one end to the other. Make a cut along the dough.
  • Braid the two parts and place on a baking sheet. Let rise for one hour, brush with egg and bake for 45 min. Let cool and decorate with powdered sugar.
  • For the mini kings' ring: cream the butter, add flour, powdered sugar, and yolks, beat until combined and have a paste. Reserve half for the crust of the cheese ring.
  • On a floured surface, cut small balls of approximately 50 grams from another third of the dough. Use your hands to form rings, place on a baking sheet.
  • Form small balls with the crust and place on top of the mini rings, add strips of ate, brush with egg, let ferment for another 15 minutes. Bake for 20 minutes, let cool and serve.
  • For the cream cheese-filled ring: cream the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and orange zest. Set aside.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the last part of the dough to obtain a rectangle of 40 x 20cm, add the cream cheese filling and roll it up, using your hands to form the ring.
  • Place on a baking sheet, using your hands form small balls of crust and place on top of the ring, brush with egg, add the candied fruits, let ferment for 30 min.
  • Brush again, add sugar on top of the crust and bake for 35 minutes. Let cool and serve.
