  • 1 cup raisins, for macerating
  • 1/4 cups brandy, for macerating
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 4 apples, sliced 1 cm thick
  • 4 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 500 grams puff pastry
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ice cream, for accompaniment

  • Place the raisins and brandy in a bowl and let macerate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the butter in a skillet and add the walnuts, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and rum-soaked raisins. Cook for 5 minutes and let cool.
  • Place some flour on a table and roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 5 mm and a rectangle of 20 cm wide by 40 cm long. Add the apples and cut strips at the ends of the puff pastry to form a braid.Interlace each of the strips to form the braid.
  • Brush the strudel with egg yolk and bake at 190 °C for 40 minutes.
  • Serve warm and accompany with vanilla ice cream.
