Chocolate Covered Donut Braids

We created a fun donut shape, with a soft and fluffy dough flavored with cinnamon and a delicious chocolate coating; these donuts will be the best option to dip in a glass of cold milk. Try them!

  • 1 envelope yeast, 11g
  • 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cups butter
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • flour, for rolling out
  • vegetable oil
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, melted
  • white chocolate, for decorating

  • Hydrate the yeast with the milk. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour with the butter, the hydrated yeast, the sugar, the milk, the egg, the salt, the ground cinnamon, and knead until you have a firm dough.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with non-stick plastic, let it rest for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  • On a floured surface, cut the dough into pieces of approximately 70 grams each, using your hands, form a roll and twist.
  • Place on a baking tray, and let it ferment for 15 more minutes.
  • In a small pot over medium heat, heat the oil and fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes. Place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
  • Dip in the melted chocolate and let dry, decorate with lines of white chocolate. Let dry completely.
  • Serve accompanied by a glass of cold milk.
