  • In a bowl, mix the flour with the sugar, salt, yeast, butter, and milk until combined.
  • Knead the dough on a surface for 10 minutes until it is smooth and homogeneous.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover with non-stick plastic, and let rise for 1 hour or until the dough doubles in volume.
  • Roll it out on a floured surface to form a rectangle, freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Place the butter between two rectangles of non-stick plastic and, using a rolling pin, work it without heating it too much until you have a square. Refrigerate for 10 minutes and set aside.
  • Place the butter in the center of the dough, wrap it and roll it out again. Using a knife, cut the edges, fold it into ¾ or a double (lengthwise) and roll it out again. Fold like a book or make a simple fold and freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough again and cut rectangles of 7cm x 15cm.
  • Place a chocolate bar in each rectangle and fold, add another chocolate bar and roll.
  • Place on a tray lined with parchment paper, brush with egg, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 170°C and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Serve with a glass of cold milk.
