Homemade Cream Gorditas

Mmm... no one can resist the aroma of cream gorditas; this is the time to make them and not miss out on eating them, because besides being a very traditional recipe, they are very easy to make. They turn out very soft and thick.

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups clotted cream

  • In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the egg one by one, knead until incorporated.
  • Add the cream and continue kneading until you have a smooth and firm dough, let it rest for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough and use a round cutter to cut the gorditas.
  • Heat a griddle over low heat and place the gorditas on it, cook for 3 minutes on each side, until they puff up.
