Homemade Whole Wheat Bread

  • 2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 grams dry yeast
  • 90 milliliters water
  • 90 milliliters cow's milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • cow's milk, for brushing

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  • In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, salt, and dry yeast.
  • Add the milk, water, and butter, mixing until fully combined.
  • On a smooth surface, knead for about 10 minutes until you have a soft and smooth dough, let it ferment in a well-covered bowl for an hour and a half until it doubles in size.
  • Place the dough on the table and press to remove excess gas, folding and rolling the dough until you get a cylinder.
  • Place in a previously greased and floured loaf pan, let it ferment for another hour and a half, and brush with milk; bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Let cool and enjoy.
