Oreo Shells

  • 11 grams dry yeast
  • 1 cup cow's milk, warm
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 6 OREO cookies
  • 1 cup butter, for the topping
  • 1 cup flour, for the topping
  • 1 cup icing sugar, for the topping
  • 16 OREO cookies, for filling

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • In a bowl, mix the yeast with the warm milk and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • For the dough, beat the flour with sugar, salt, add the hydrated yeast, and the eggs one by one. Once completely mixed, add the butter, orange zest, and continue kneading until you have a homogeneous dough.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Place the cookies in a resealable bag and use a rolling pin to crush them until you obtain a fine powder.
  • For the topping, beat the butter with powdered sugar, flour, and crushed Oreos.
  • Form the topping for the shells by placing a ball of Oreo dough between two plastics, and flatten it with a rolling pin. Refrigerate until use.
  • Once the dough has fermented, weigh 60-gram balls, shape them, and insert an Oreo cookie. Continue shaping until the cookie is covered with dough.
  • Place the shells on a greased and floured baking sheet. Add the Oreo topping on top and score with a knife or shell cutter. Let it ferment for about 15 more minutes.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven, and cool.
