You can prepare this delicious yolk bread of the dead for the Day of the Dead or simply for a cold day when you want to eat it with hot chocolate.

575 grams flour
90 grams sugar
120 grams butter, melted
3 eggs
1 tablespoon anise seeds
120 milliliters water, warm
25 grams yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk, for brushing
food coloring, of various colors

Low
Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
Add the flour and sugar, knead well, and add the butter, salt, eggs, and anise seeds. Knead and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Knead to remove the air and shape the dough into a round form.
Grease a baking mold and place it on the tray.
Make some cuts on the surface to shape it.
Brush with the beaten yolk and sprinkle anise seeds on top.
Place in the preheated oven at 190ºC for 40 minutes.
With a little dough, shape small faces and put them in the oven; you can paint them with artificial coloring and add them to the bread.
