Banana Tamales with Nutella

This sweet tamale recipe will become your addiction, whether for breakfast or as a dessert, they are the perfect craving for any occasion. These fluffy little tamales are filled with bananas spread with Nutella®. They are ideal for pampering your family accompanied by a glass of milk!

  • 20 corn husks
  • water, hot
  • 315 grams butter, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 3/4 cups raw sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 cups rice flour
  • 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup banana, chopped
  • water, for the steamer
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella®, 15 g
  • banana, for decoration

  • Soak the tamale leaves in hot water for 15 minutes or until they are soft. Drain and set aside.
  • In a mixer, cream the butter, gradually add the vanilla and brown sugar, continue mixing until integrated. Gradually add the egg pieces.
  • Add the powders and beat until integrated for about 5 minutes, until the dough mixture is fluffy.
  • Place a tablespoon of dough inside each corn leaf and add the banana. Fold it like a tamale.
  • Place the tamales in a steamer with water and cook for about 20 minutes.
  • Spread with Nutella® and decorate with banana. Enjoy.
