Cheese and bacon biscuits

This recipe for biscuits has cheddar cheese and bacon, giving them a great flavor ideal to accompany a breakfast.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons butter, cold, cut into pieces
  • 1/3 cups cheddar cheese, fine grated
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 3/4 cups cow's milk, to make the buttermilk
  • 1/4 cups water

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Stir well.
  • Cut the butter into pieces and put in a food processor.
  • Add the mixed flour and press a couple of times.
  • Add cheese and bacon. Press again twice.
  • Add milk with lemon, and 1/4 cup of water. Press until the dry ingredients get wet.
  • In a baking tray (previously greased) spoon 2 tablespoons of the dough (well separated) and fill the tray with the biscuits.
  • Cook for 11 minutes in the oven or until golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
