Chocolate French Toast

  • 3 eggs, large
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups light milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/8 teaspoons salt
  • 10 slices wholemeal bread
  • 10 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • maple syrup

  • In the cup where you measured the milk, combine the sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, and salt until everything is smooth.
  • Beat the eggs and add the vanilla and the previous milk mixture until smooth.
  • In a hot skillet over medium-high heat, grease it with butter.
  • Dip each slice of bread on both sides and place it on the hot skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes on each side.
  • Serve immediately; you can spread butter when they're hot and add maple syrup to taste.
