Tamales are one of the most recognized Mexican traditions in the world. If you want to prepare delicious sweet corn tamales accompanied with cheese and strips, this is the best recipe.
Remove some leaves from the corn and save the best ones for making the tamales. The corn is sliced and ground; you can use a mill, a grinder, or a food processor.
Once the corn is ground, add salt, melted butter, and sugar, and mix well. Now we have the dough ready. To prepare each tamale, place a tablespoon of this dough on a corn leaf.
Add 2 or 3 thin strips of chili and a strip of cheese, then fold the bottom part of the leaf and place them in a steamer pot. Cook covered over medium heat for 30 to 45 minutes, and then enjoy the warm tamales.
