500 grams fig, whole
1/2 cups sugar, to taste
1/4 cups red wine
1/4 teaspoons lime juice

Cut off the tips and stems of the figs and cut them into quarters.
In a pot, cook the figs over medium heat for 15 minutes, and with a fork or a masher, crush them to make a puree while they cook.
When they start to take on a much darker color, add the sugar and stir well.
Add the wine and lemon and continue stirring. Cook for 5 more minutes over medium heat.
Pack in an airtight glass container while still hot. Place in the refrigerator, and as it cools, it will pasteurize itself.
