Fruit Skewers with Homemade Yogurt

  • 4 cups cow's milk, for the homemade yogurt
  • 1 cup milk powder, for the homemade yogurt
  • 1 cup plain yogurt, for the homemade yogurt
  • 1/4 melons, for the skewer
  • 2 oranges, for the skewer
  • 1 banana, for the skewer
  • 1 cup strawberries, for the skewer
  • 1 cup grapes, for the skewer

  • For the homemade yogurt, in a saucepan over low heat, place the milk and gradually add the powdered milk while stirring to dissolve; heat to 85 °C and remove from heat. Let it cool to 45 °C.
  • Place two ladles of warm milk over the yogurt and mix until combined; pour the yogurt into the rest of the warm milk and finish mixing. In a jar with a lid, empty the mixture; wrap the jar with a cloth and store in the pantry or in a cool, dark place. Let it ferment for 36 hours. Set aside.
  • On a cutting board and with the help of a knife, cut the melon into cubes after removing the seeds. Cut the orange into thirds, the banana into slices, just remove the stem from the strawberry, and cut the grape in half. Set aside.
  • Assemble the skewers by placing the fruit one by one and repeat until finished with all. Serve on a flat plate with a little homemade yogurt. Enjoy.
