Recipe for divorced eggs

Don’t know what to prepare for breakfast? These divorced eggs are a great option, as they are made with two types of sauces and can be accompanied by beans and tortillas!

  • 3 árbol chiles, without stems and soaked, for the red sauce
  • 1/4 onions, for the red sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, for the red sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, for the red sauce
  • 3/4 cups water, for the red sauce
  • salt, for the red sauce
  • 1 liter water, for the green sauce
  • 6 tomatillos, for the green sauce
  • 1/4 onions, for the green sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, for the green sauce
  • 2 serrano chiles, for the green sauce
  • salt, for the green sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 8 eggs

  • For the red sauce: blend the tomato, árbol chili, onion, garlic, oregano, and water until you get a smooth mixture.
  • Heat a little oil, pour in the red sauce, add salt, and cook for 3 minutes.
  • For the green sauce: cook the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and chilies for 20 minutes or until the tomatoes change color.
  • Blend the vegetables with salt and set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and add the eggs. Cook to your liking and remove from heat.
  • Serve the eggs, drench with the red sauce and others with the green sauce. Accompany this spicy breakfast with Del Valle Frut® Citrus!
