Whole Wheat Hot Cakes

  • 3/4 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 peaches
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Set aside.
  • Pour the milk into the center of the mixture and mix with a fork until only small lumps remain in the batter. Do not overmix.
  • Heat a skillet and melt the butter. Add to the mixture. If it is too thick, add a little more milk.
  • Pour the mixture into the hot skillet and flip when small bubbles start to appear.
  • For the sauce: Remove the pit from the peach and place it in a pot, cover with water and add sugar. Let them cook over low heat until they are soft.
  • Blend the peaches along with the cooking syrup and strain if necessary.
