Waffles with Strawberry Coulis

This basic waffle recipe is served with a strawberry sauce. You can substitute it with maple syrup and a bit of whipped cream.

1 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
3 eggs, blended
50 butter, melted
450 grams whole milk
2 cups strawberries, sliced and cleaned
1/4 cups sugar

Preheat the waffle maker.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
In another bowl, mix the eggs, melted butter, and milk with the lemon drops.
Add the milk mixture to the flour and stir until combined. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
Spoon the correct amount of batter into the waffle maker and close it to cook on both sides to your liking.
Keep warm in the oven at 100 degrees while you prepare the sauce.
Place the strawberries and 1/4 cup of sugar in the blender. Strain the sauce through a sieve.
Serve the waffles hot with the strawberry sauce on top and a bit of whipped cream in the center.
