Waffles with Strawberry Coulis

This basic waffle recipe is served with a strawberry sauce. You can substitute it with maple syrup and a bit of whipped cream.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 eggs, blended
  • 50 butter, melted
  • 450 grams whole milk
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced and cleaned
  • 1/4 cups sugar

  • Preheat the waffle maker.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  • In another bowl, mix the eggs, melted butter, and milk with the lemon drops.
  • Add the milk mixture to the flour and stir until combined. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Spoon the correct amount of batter into the waffle maker and close it to cook on both sides to your liking.
  • Keep warm in the oven at 100 degrees while you prepare the sauce.
  • Place the strawberries and 1/4 cup of sugar in the blender. Strain the sauce through a sieve.
  • Serve the waffles hot with the strawberry sauce on top and a bit of whipped cream in the center.
