Walnut Bread

This buttered walnut bread is very delicious for breakfast.

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 2/3 cups cow's milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons baking soda

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well with a whisk.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, and oil. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour the liquid mixture into the center, stirring gently until well combined, then add the chopped walnuts.
  • Divide the mixture into 2 molds measuring 19cm long by 8.5cm wide and 6cm high, greased and floured. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Once removed from the oven, let them cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Then remove from the mold and let cool completely. Wrap them and store until the next day to enhance the flavor.
