Apple Chicken

This apple chicken includes a mixture of vegetables such as broccoli, carrot, and celery, making it ideal for any day of the week, and its sweet and sour flavor will delight you. It is a chicken stir-fry with Gala Washington® apples and sweet-sour vegetables. If you thought apples were only for desserts, you have to try this apple chicken; you'll change your mind.

  • 700 grams chicken breast , boneless
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder , for the marinade
  • salt , for the marinade
  • pepper , for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon paprika, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary, fresh, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon oregano , dry, for the marinade
  • 1/2 cups orange juice, seedless, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil , for the marinade
  • 3 Washington® apple gala
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups celery, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cups carrot , cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cups broccoli, in small florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, previously hydrated
  • rosemary, for garnish

  • For the marinade, in a bowl, place the chicken breasts and season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, rosemary, and oregano, add the orange juice and olive oil, mix, and let marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter, place the chicken and cook for 2 minutes on each side, pour a little of the marinade juice, cover and cook the chicken for 25 minutes on medium-low heat. Once the cooking time has passed, set aside.
  • On a cutting board, slice the Gala Washington® apples into half-moons, remembering to remove the core.
  • For the sauce, in a skillet, pour the olive oil and cook the onion, garlic, ginger, celery, carrot, and broccoli; add the soy sauce, seasoning juice, and chicken broth, and cook for 5 minutes. Add the brown sugar, cornstarch, and Gala Washington® apples, and cook for 6 more minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the sauce has thickened. Add the chicken breast pieces and cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve the chicken and drizzle with the sauce and vegetables. Garnish with rosemary.
