Beef Hash

Hash is an ideal dish for feeding many people. It is tasty, filling, and easy to make; serve with Milpa Real Tortillas.

  • 1 kilo ground beef
  • 2 cups canned tomato, shredded in its juice
  • 1 cup tomato purée
  • 4 red beefsteak tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 red potatoes, boiled and diced
  • 6 carrots, sliced
  • 1/2 cups peas, fresh
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, mashed
  • 1 cube chicken broth, powdered
  • 1/2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle chile sauce, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Milpa Real® tortilla

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes.
  • Add the tomato, carrot, and peas, and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the canned tomato, tomato puree, chicken bouillon powder, oregano, and chili, and cook until the broth begins to boil. While cooking the meat, use a wooden spoon to break it apart and mix it so that it cooks evenly.
  • Continue cooking until the meat is well cooked. Add the potatoes and cook for 2 more minutes, mixing well.
  • Remove the hash from the heat and serve.
