  • Blend the flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, milk, vegetable oil, and water for 5 minutes. Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover, and let it ferment for 1 hour.
  • Once the dough doubles in size, place it on a flat surface and roll it out with a rolling pin until it reaches a thickness of ½ centimeter; if necessary, use flour to prevent the dough from sticking to the surface. Then, cut the dough with a ring or lid that is 10 centimeters in diameter, grease the surface of each circle with vegetable oil, fold in half, and place on a square of parchment paper. Let rest for at least 20 more minutes.
  • Place the buns in a steamer, giving each piece enough space, and steam for 18 minutes; before uncovering, let rest for 5 minutes. Once you take the bao bread out of the steamer, you will notice that it can be filled, as the oil used to grease the surface helps the sides you folded to come off easily. Set aside until use.
  • Place the beef strips in a bowl and add Sriracha sauce, garlic powder, ginger, green onion, soy sauce, pepper, and honey; mix well and marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  • Pour the sesame oil into a pan over medium heat and cook the meat until well done, for at least 10 minutes. Once ready, set aside.
  • Stuff the bao bread with the beef and garnish with red onion, cilantro leaves, green onion, and sesame; enjoy this beef bao!
