Meatballs in sauce

In this recipe, ingredients are combined that give a great and characteristic flavor to the ground meat. The preparation of the sauce is novel by including a touch of red wine.

  • 500 grams ground meat, beef
  • 250 grams ground meat, pork
  • 1/4 cups breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tablespoons nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/4 tablespoons pepper, ground
  • 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cups water, hot
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 can tomatillo, ground (800 grs)
  • 1/4 cups red wine

  • All the first 11 ingredients are mixed with the meats.
  • Balls are formed.
  • They are fried in hot oil until golden.
  • They are taken out, and in that same oil, the ground tomato is fried, the wine is added, and it is stirred.
  • The meatballs are integrated into the sauce and allowed to simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens, approximately 15 minutes.
