Beef Steaks in Red Sauce with Potatoes

  • 3 árbol chiles, deveined and soaked in water, for the sauce
  • 6 guajillo chiles, deveined and soaked in water, for the sauce
  • 1/2 cups beef broth, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups fresh cilantro, for the sauce
  • 1/2 onions, sliced for the steaks
  • 4 beefsteaks
  • 1 cup potato, cooked and cut into large cubes for the steaks

  • For the sauce: blend the onion, garlic, tomato, árbol chili, guajillo chili, beef broth, cumin, and cilantro until completely combined. Set aside.
  • For the steaks: in a small pot with oil over medium heat, sauté the onion and then add the steaks. Incorporate the sauce by straining it over the pot. Add the potato, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5 more minutes. Set aside.
  • Serve on a large plate, accompanied by black beans and corn tortillas.
