Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
Place a large skillet that can also go in the oven over medium heat and heat a light layer of olive oil.
When the oil is hot, add the steaks and sear for 3 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and bake for 3-4 minutes or until they are cooked to your desired doneness.
Place the steaks on their plates and cover with aluminum foil to keep them warm.
Place the skillet back on the stove over medium heat and add the red wine. Cook for about 8 minutes or until the sauce has reduced to about 1/4 cup.
Add the butter and whisk with a whisk until fully incorporated.
Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve.
