Sweet and Sour Beef Ribs

This sweet and sour beef ribs recipe is a delicious and very easy option to prepare; however, it’s important to get high-quality ingredients and achieve the perfect combination to enhance all the flavors with Kikkoman®.

  • 1/2 cups orange juice, for the glaze
  • 1/2 cups tamarind syrup, for the glaze
  • 1/4 cups chipotle chile in adobo sauce, for the glaze
  • 1/2 cups Teriyaki Sauce for Kikkoman® Frosting, for the glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoons ginger powder, for the glaze
  • salt, for the glaze
  • pepper, for the glaze
  • 2 tablespoons butter, in cubes
  • 2 kilos beef rib, shortrib or ribeye
  • garlic salt, for the ribs
  • pepper, for the ribs
  • yellow corn, roasted, for serving
  • potato, rosemary, for serving

  • For the glaze: Blend the orange juice, tamarind syrup, adobo chipotle, Kikkoman® Teriyaki sauce for glazing, ground ginger, salt, and pepper for 5 minutes or until smooth. Set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and then pour in the sauce. Cook for 10 minutes or until thickened, ideal for brushing the beef ribs.
  • Place the ribs on a board and season with garlic salt and pepper on both sides. Start brushing with a brush, covering perfectly. Transfer the ribs to a board lined with wax paper to prevent sticking.
  • Bake the sweet and sour beef ribs at 190 °C for one hour, uncover, and cook for one more hour. The juices will concentrate and will form a crust. You can brush at intervals to prevent drying out and to concentrate the flavor even more.
  • Serve the sweet and sour beef ribs on a board and accompany with yellow corn and rosemary potatoes.
