Chicken Cordon Bleu Nuggets

These chicken nuggets have a special extra touch, as they are filled with ham and cheese with a crispy coating of Tres Estrellas® rice flour, plus they absorb less fat since no breadcrumbs are used in their preparation. Enjoy them with your little ones.

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 200 grams Manchego cheese, thick cut, ½ cm
  • 200 grams deli ham, thick cut, ½ cm
  • 2 eggs, for breading
  • Tres Estrellas® rice flour, for breading
  • vegetable oil
  • ketchup, for serving
  • mustard, for serving
  • mayonnaise, for serving

  • Mix the ground chicken and the egg in a bowl or container, season with salt and pepper. You should obtain a workable mixture; if not, add a little Tres Estrellas® rice flour to reduce moisture in the mixture.
  • Form a ball of approximately 20 g and press in the center to create a hole, place the ham and cheese, and press with both hands to shape the nugget.
  • Bread the nugget by first dipping it in the egg and then in Tres Estrellas® rice flour; freeze the nuggets for 15 minutes and, if necessary, create a second layer.
  • Heat a deep pot or saucepan over medium heat and add plenty of vegetable oil; once the oil is hot, fry the nuggets for about 12 minutes or until completely cooked. Remove excess oil with paper towels.
  • Serve the nuggets with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. You can serve with a salad, potatoes, or to your liking.
