Chicken with Balsamic Barbecue Sauce

Sweet and tangy at the same time, this barbecue sauce with balsamic vinegar tastes amazing. Make some extra to serve at the table.

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3/4 cups ketchup, (Ketchup)
  • 1/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 chicken, cut into pieces (2 breasts, 2 wings, 2 thighs, and 2 drumsticks)

  • In a pot, combine: balsamic vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, finely chopped garlic clove, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the pot over medium heat until it reduces to 1/3, for 15-20 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill to medium heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Put 1/2 cup of the sauce in a small dish.
  • Grill the chicken for 10 minutes on each side, brushing the chicken with barbecue sauce during the last 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Place the chicken on a platter and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
