Arabic chicken tacos

The Arabic tacos, close relatives of tacos al pastor, originated in the state of Puebla with the arrival of migrants from Iraq, who transformed their traditional recipes and used very Mexican spices and ingredients to give us this Mexican treat that we all love.They are usually made with pork, onion, spices, and more, but we decided to give them a twist and make them with chicken marinated with McCormick® Balance with almond oil; it's the ideal recipe for a family meal or a gathering!Click to see more easy recipes

  • 1/2 cups McCormick® Balance with almond oil, for the marinade
  • 1/2 cups lime juice, for the marinade
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, for the marinade
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric, for the marinade
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon oregano, for the marinade
  • 2 tablespoons water, for the marinade
  • salt, for the marinade

  • 4 chicken breasts, in half, for the marinade
  • 1 cup sour cream, for the tzatziki
  • 1/2 cups cucumber, finely chopped, for the tzatziki
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped, for the tzatziki
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest, for the tzatziki
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice, for the tzatziki
  • 1 cup McCormick® Balance with almond oil, for the tzatziki

  • Mix McCormick® Balance with almond oil, lemon juice, cumin, turmeric, paprika, oregano, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Cover the chicken breasts with the marinade and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Place the marinated breasts on a tray, insert a skewer to form a mini chicken trompo, and bake at 180 °C for 45 minutes. Cut slices of chicken and reserve for the Arabic taco.
  • For the tzatziki: mix cream, cucumber, garlic, lemon zest, juice, salt, pepper, and McCormick® Balance with almond oil in a bowl. Mix until combined and set aside.
  • Serve the chicken Arabic tacos in pita bread and accompany with tzatziki. Now you know how to prepare it step by step!
