Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Legs

This recipe for bacon-wrapped chicken legs is ideal for family Sundays, barbecues, or sporting events.   • 1/4 cups butter, in cubes
  • 1 cup tomato, in small cubes
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup Kikkoman® Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon guajillo chile, powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 800 grams chicken drumstick, clean, skinless, with the bone exposed (like a beef shoulder)
  • 400 grams bacon
  • 1/2 cups unsweetened Greek yogurt, for the dressing
  • 1 cup sour cream, for the dressing
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice, seedless, for the dressing
  • 1 clove garlic, for the dressing
  • 2 serrano chiles, without tail, for the dressing
  • 1/2 cups cilantro, for the dressing

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook the tomato until it breaks down almost completely. Then, pour in the apple cider vinegar, Kikkoman® Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce, garlic powder, guajillo chili powder, paprika, and black pepper until all ingredients are well combined. Cook for 5 more minutes or until the sauce is slightly thickened.
  • Coat the chicken legs with the previous mixture, then wrap with the bacon slices leaving the clean bone exposed. Use wooden toothpicks if necessary. Repeat the process until finished with the chicken pieces.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped chicken legs on a baking tray, brush with the sauce again, and bake at 180 °C for 60 minutes. Remember to brush occasionally so that the chicken legs brown nicely and do not lose their juiciness. Once ready, keep warm.
  • Make a dressing to accompany your bacon-wrapped chicken legs! Blend the yogurt, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic clove, serrano chiles, cilantro, and enough salt and pepper until well combined.
  • Serve the bacon-wrapped chicken legs accompanied by the cilantro dressing and potato chips to taste.
