Easy Chili con Carne

If you are looking for a super tasty meal that will warm you up on those cold days, while also being full of protein, this chili con carne recipe is ideal for you. Thanks to the special touch of Salsa Huichol®, you will want to cook this chili all the time.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 kilo ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato, crushed
  • 1/4 cups Salsa Huichol® black sauce
  • 1/4 cups Huichol® Habanera Sauce
  • 2 cups tomato purée
  • 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cumin, ground
  • 1 tablespoon pimentón
  • 1 teaspoon raw sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped
  • salt

  • 1 1/2 cups black beans, cooked and drained
  • cheddar cheese, grated, for decoration
  • sour cream, for decoration
  • Jalapeño chile, sliced, for decoration
  • green onion, only the green part, sliced thinly, for decoration

  • Heat the olive oil in a pot and cook the onion and garlic for 5 minutes, then add the meat and cook for 10 more minutes or until browned.
  • Add the crushed tomato, Salsa Huichol® Negra, Salsa Huichol® Habanera, tomato puree, beef broth, cumin, paprika, sugar, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 hours on low heat and cover the pot, making sure it doesn't dry out; if it does, add a bit of beef broth, black beans, and cilantro.
  • Once the 2 hours have passed, add the beans to the chili and cook for 10 more minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Serve the chili con carne in a deep plate, with cheddar cheese, cream, jalapeño, and green onion.
