Green Tamales with Pork

  • 1 3/4 cups Maizena® cornstarch
  • 2 cups corn masa flour
  • 1 cup lard
  • 3 1/2 cups broth, from the cooking of the meat
  • 1 teaspoon Knorr® granulated chicken bouillon
  • 6 tomatillos
  • 1/4 onions
  • 3 serrano chiles
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 500 grams pork, cooked and cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • 1 cube Knorr® granulated chicken bouillon
  • 15 corn husks

  • Beat the lard with a mixer until it doubles in volume.
  • Add the Maizena® Corn Starch, the corn flour, and the teaspoon of Knorr® Suiza Chicken Broth, incorporating gently.
  • Gradually add the broth until a soft, moist dough forms.
  • To prepare the sauce, boil all the ingredients in 1 cup of water. Let it cool slightly and blend. Set aside.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons of dough over the leaf, place some pieces of meat and 4 tablespoons of green sauce. Join both ends and fold the tip like a tamale.
  • Place a pot with a water bath and arrange the tamales standing up with the opening facing up.
