Ground Beef Tinga

This ground beef tinga recipe is a different version of the classic preparation in Mexican homes. The base of this tinga is a tomato sauce with chipotle chili made with a generous amount of sautéed onion and a little ground beef.   • 4 tomatoes, for the sauce
  • 1/4 onions, for the sauce
  • 1 garlic, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups chipotle chile, for the sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth, for the sauce
  • vegetable oil
  • 2 cups onion, sliced
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sour cream
  • queso fresco, shredded
  • avocado
  • cilantro, for garnish
  • tostadas, for serving
  • refried beans, for serving
  • 1 Bonafont® fresh waters from Jamaica

  • Blend the tomato, onion, garlic, chipotle chili, beef broth, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil, add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes until it loses moisture and the onion becomes transparent and very soft. Add the ground beef and sauté for 5 more minutes. Add the sauce and cook for 10 minutes or until the sauce reduces to ¼ of the liquid. Remove from heat.
  • Serve the tinga hot, accompany it with tostadas topped with beans, cream, cheese, and your preferred salsa. Pair with Bonafont® Jamaica fresh water.
