Meatloaf

Recipe for meatloaf prepared with vegetables, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Delicious and easy for kids to enjoy.

  • 2 cups onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 sprig celery, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1/2 cups shallot, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 kilos ground beef
  • 1/4 kilos ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 cups parsley, chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

  • Preheat the oven to 190 C.
  • In a saucepan, sauté the finely chopped onion, garlic, celery, carrot, and shallot in butter. Let them cook for 5 minutes and season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Add 1/3 cup of ketchup and let it cook for 1 minute, stirring.
  • In another bowl, mix the vegetables with the meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, and parsley. Place in a greased loaf pan and top with the remaining ketchup.
  • Bake for one hour or until the meat thermometer registers 155 F.
