Milanesa Napolitana

  • 500 grams beef cutlet, center face up

  • 2 eggs, for breading
  • 3 tablespoons cow's milk, for breading
  • salt and pepper, for breading
  • breadcrumbs, for breading
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 200 grams deli ham
  • 200 grams Mozzarella cheese, fresh
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • thyme, for decoration

  • Bread the milanesa with flour and remove the excess. In a bowl, whisk the egg with the milk, salt, and pepper. Dip the milanesa in this mixture and then into the breadcrumbs.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat with the oil and fry the potatoes until they are crispy. Remove them and fry the milanesa in the same skillet until cooked. Drain on paper towels.
  • Add tomato sauce on top of each milanesa, place a slice of ham and mozzarella cheese, finish with slices of tomato and sprinkle with oregano. Cook the milanesa again for 5 minutes with the skillet covered so that the cheese melts.
  • On a board, serve the milanesa with the potatoes, garnish with thyme, and enjoy.
