Pork Tinga Toasts

One of the typical Mexican dishes is undoubtedly tinga. This easy pork tinga recipe is a great option for a budget-friendly meal any day of the week, it is versatile for preparing and even adding to other dishes. Pair it with beans and on toasts, you will love it!

  • 4 cups pork chump, 1 kg
  • water
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 head garlic
  • 2 leaves bay
  • 2 cups tomato
  • 1/4 onions, for the sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, for the sauce
  • 1 cup San Marcos® chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, 215 g, for the sauce
  • 1 cup pork broth, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • 1 cup onion, sliced

  • San Marcos® chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, for garnish

  • Cook the pork in enough water to cover it by 4 fingers above the amount of meat; add the onion, garlic head, bay leaf, and salt, cook for 1 hour over medium heat. Reserve the liquid.
  • While the meat you cooked is still hot, shred it and set it aside.
  • For the sauce, blend the tomato and onion with garlic, the San Marcos® adobo chipotle peppers, and one cup of the pork broth from where you cooked it.
  • In a skillet, fry the onion and shredded pork with lard for 5 minutes, add the sauce and season with salt and pepper; cook for about 15 minutes, until the sauce reduces. Remove from heat.
  • Serve the prepared tinga on toasts with beans, cream, cheese, and chipotle.
