  • 1/2 onions, for the sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, for the sauce
  • 500 grams tomatillo, for the sauce
  • 5 morita chiles, soaked, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, for the sauce
  • pinches salt, for the sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth, for the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 500 grams beefsteak, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or olive oil
  • 1 cup nopal, cooked and cut into strips

  • In a skillet, roast the onion, garlic, tomatoes, and morita chili. Set aside.
  • Blend the onion, garlic, tomatoes, morita chili, cumin, pepper, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a pan over medium heat, add the oil, onion, and steaks, season with salt and pepper; when cooked, add the sauce and cook for 10 minutes, then add the nopales and cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve on a flat plate and accompany with white rice.
