Stuffed Turkey with Meats

This Christmas turkey recipe is filled with a mixture of ground meat flavored with bacon, serrano ham, and chopped apples. The beautiful golden color of the turkey is achieved with a blowtorch or culinary torch.

  • 1 turkey, 8 kg
  • 1/4 cups butter, for the marinade
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, for the marinade
  • 2 cups white wine, for the marinade
  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 1 slice bacon, chopped
  • 50 grams serrano ham, chopped
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 200 grams seedless prune
  • 1/2 cups sherry
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 tablespoon Great Value® granulated sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • For the marinade, melt the butter and mix with the white wine and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • Mix the ground beef, ground pork, and chopped bacon. Add the serrano ham, diced apples, chopped prunes, and sherry. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Stuff the turkey with the meat mixture. Rub with salt and pepper all over the surface. Tie with twine and inject with the marinade.
  • Place the turkey in a turkey bag or cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 4 hours. Reserve the juices and uncover in the last hour to allow it to brown.
  • Remove from the oven and use a blowtorch to brown the surface of the turkey.
  • For the gravy, mix the cornstarch with half a cup of water and the red wine.
  • In a pot, melt 1 tablespoon of sugar. Add the wine mixture and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
