Sweet and Sour Chicken with Orange

This recipe is very tasty and much easier than it seems. The sweet and sour chicken dish, an oriental dish, is an innovative recipe.

  • 3/4 cups orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons orange peels, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 kilo chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups green beans, steamed in pieces
  • 1/2 cups carrot, steamed in pieces
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oriental red chili
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups white rice

  • In a deep bowl, mix the orange juice and cornstarch until the cornstarch has dissolved. Add the orange zest, ginger, soy sauce, and red chili and mix well.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok. Add the oil and sauté the onion and garlic for 2 minutes.
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add to the wok, cooking until the chicken is well cooked and the onion is golden and crispy.
  • Add the vegetables and the orange sauce, mix and continue cooking for about 3 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
  • Remove from heat and serve.
