Sweet and Sour Orange Chicken

  • 3 cups chicken breast, in cubes
  • 1/4 cups soy sauce, for the chicken
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, for the chicken
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch, for the chicken
  • black pepper, ground, for the chicken
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, shredded
  • 1 cup Jumex® Unique Fresh Orange, for cooking the chicken
  • 2 tablespoons honey, for cooking the chicken
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, for cooking the chicken
  • 1/4 cups soy sauce, for cooking the chicken
  • chives, finely chopped, for garnish

  • Mix the chicken breast cubes with soy sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and black pepper in a bowl until fully integrated, cover with cling film, and marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Pour vegetable oil into a deep pan or wok, heat over medium-low heat and sauté the garlic, onion, and ginger until they start to change color. Add the marinated chicken and seal for a few minutes or until golden brown.
  • Pour the Jumex® Único Fresco® Orange, honey, rice vinegar, and soy sauce, then cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly; you will notice that the sauce will begin to thicken. Coat the chicken until fully covered and remove from heat.
  • Serve the chicken in a container ready to go, add scallions and sesame seeds for garnish.
